FileCompare v1.6.1.34

FileCompare compares two folders of files in binary (recursive) to see if they are identical. It will list those files found to have no identical counterpart in the other folder.

Runs on:Win95 / Win98 / WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP / Vista / Win7
Writes settings to: User profile folder. But given the nature of the application, I think it can be accepted as portable.
License: Freeware
How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch compare.exe.

This program crashed when trying to do a comparison between a local SBS 2003 folder and a remote , mapped network drive (Linux Samba).

Got to about 1700 files and crashed. Originally thought it was when 500 differences were found but the crash seems to be related to numbe rof files parsed.
Four crashes, gave up.

New version from Feb-06 available at the website. Useful tool for a quick compare of e.g. files from work vs. files at home.
