FCEUX is a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), Famicom, Famicom Disk System (FDS), and Dendy emulator. It supports NTSC (USA/JPN), PAL (European), and NTSC-PAL Hybrid modes.

Note that to actually play any game with FCEUX you will need ROM images in one of the supported formats.

Runs on:WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10
Writes settings to: Application folder

How to extract: Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice. Launch fceux.exe

It's really not a game but an emulator similar to Mame and others. You add ROM files and you can play older games on your PC. In this case it's an emulator for NES and Famicom based games.

For those of us who check these pages every day to see whats new, this program isn't categorized but from what I've read, I "assume" its a game. The description is very vague to those of us uninitiated.

This program is now called FCEUX, and version is at 2.1.4a (older version still available on website).

"The concept behind FCEUX is to merge elements from FCEU Ultra, FCEU rerecording, FCEUXD, FCEUXDSP, FCEUXDSP CE, and FCEU-mm into a single branch of FCEU."


Not sure about portability though...
