Comments now restricted to registered users
After discussion with the other moderators last week, we have decided to restrict entry comments to registered users in order to reduce the amount of spam.
Anonymous users will still be able to view the comments, but posting of comments will only be available if you are logged in.
Hopefully this will improve the quality of comments and help lessen the work required to kill spammy comments.

Brilliant! I've aways said this should be the case, so it's great to see this being implemented

There are a few that post comments regularly but never really joined TPFC. I hope they decide to join now (like Magibon did before).

What do you guys think about putting a blurb about having to register in order to leave a comment on an apps' permalink page if you're not logged in?
is it stealth?

@freakazoid: Blurb added. Thanks for the suggestion!
Re: Comments now restricted to registered users
Right now its showing up in red multiple times on the main page under each entry. I'd recommend making it only visible if someone clicks "post comment" or "permalink".Andrew Lee wrote:@freakazoid: Blurb added. Thanks for the suggestion!

Agreed! Also currently, the blurb shows up even when I'm logged in.webfork wrote:Right now its showing up in red multiple times on the main page under each entry.
