Howdy all,
anybody onboard here has had a chance to play with thinstall?
According to how I interpret the website, by use of redirection of program calls to its virtual system, it can run programs normally requiring admin rights even in a restricted environment. Wonder if that's correct ... and if my old dream of having a truly portable truecrypt can thus come true (one that runs without pre-installation or admin rights). Not to mention so many other programs that have not yet been made portable ...
And then, if this is possible - why hasn't such a thing been developed in the opensource world? It sounds revolutionary ...
Can anyone provide some experiences?
Cheers
Chris

Same old story what happens with adobe and tools like that:
Please, check next time the supporter board, the most apps are already tested and commented there.
I just tried programs, which have all files included.
You could test this workaround, but I can't guarantee that it will helps:

Not yet, maybe someday. It's the known problem that you cannot virtualize a device driver.

No, never. To do this you need a full blown virtual machine with full windows installation on it. Things Thinstall does are totally different.WhoCares wrote:Same old story what happens with adobe and tools like that:Not yet, maybe someday. It's the known problem that you cannot virtualize a device driver.
