Maybe consider to disable links in signature for new users with less than X number of posts.

I'm for.
Sometimes it doesn't help (people write several posts and a year later update the sig), but it's better what we see now.

No such feature in phpBB3, AFAIK.

BTW I just found a cool way that bots use to create human-like posts.
They take questions from answers.yahoo.com (likely others too). I guess they do some basic keyword analysis, so they don't ask about cooking on a Power Rangers forum, because the question I saw fit the forum well enough.
