Using MIME Edit addon or manually editting mimetype.rdf in firefox to run exe files with explorer.exe
now bookmark your folders/programs in firefox and give them keywords/tags
my setup is tagging word/excel/powerpoint as office so i see them when i search office. I can launch them by keyword as well.
you can even give the files:/// and about:blank backgrrounds by editting usercontent.css in chrome folder lol
A note is that while explorer is set to run exe files, its still only going to give you the file prompt IE has for run/save/cancel so you'll still be "safe" if some exe tries to run since you'll be prompted.

Anyhow since I'm on the web 80-90% of the time when im on the computer this just makes things easier for me
