Re: Is Opera 11 standard portable or not ?
I've had a few crashes and the old hanging on the last element bug, but it's mainly because I load like 50 tabs all the time!
is it stealth?

Okay I was determined to finally find an answer for the last element bug and here it is:

I was using a HOSTS file to block stuff and Opera doesn't seem to like that.

Opera also tweeted about this as well!

Thanks, the link is included in the DownloadSquad segment too I just thought I would be honest and say where I heard it first, as I believe in honesty when it comes to sharing information.

I wonder if the opening sentence on that page was a reference to Futurama?freakazoid wrote:Opera also tweeted about this as well!

I have just downloaded the new Version of Opera V11.10 Beta and even though it was yesterdays build this new Version is looking very polished. I predict the Stable Version will be released sooner then you think!
Re: Is Opera 11 standard portable or not ?
Back on the track again!
I've retired Chrome as it became sluggish after some hours of use. I noticed similar issues in Opera v11 but 11.10 beta is just fine. I've had 2 crashes right after installing the new beta and I was close to perform a shift+del combo but no crashes since then, fortunately.
I hope they won't rush out 11.10 and they'll iron out as many bugs they can - though everything's seems fine to me in this beta. My biggest concern is always online apps, Opera often had difficulties with them.

I was wondering if anyone has used "/KioskMode" in Opera? - http://www.opera.com/support/mastering/kiosk/#simple
I often forget that the Opera browser has quite a few in built features e.g. Turbo (unique, in terms of no other browser has this), Sync (other browser are starting to jump on board) and many many more. It's just a shame this browser is still at 2% in the "Desktop Browser Wars." Well it isn't all bad as Opera is the number mobile browser

Another point to add is the developer who proposed CSS to W3C now works for ... you guessed it ... Opera!

Re: Is Opera 11 standard portable or not ?
I don't use it.
I prefer to avoid confusion, so I use a "naked" version of Iron for that purpose, started in incognito mode.
Don't know if it is exactly the same thing, though...
Note: "naked" as in no bookmarks, no passwords, no cache, no history etc.

Why not use Opera and a new private tab instead of Iron in incognito mode?
is it stealth?
Re: Is Opera 11 standard portable or not ?
I really should try this, too. Thank's for the tip!
I might keep 2 versions of Opera, one naked, and one custom.

I'm running behind the rest of the world as usual.
Slightly off-topic-but-not-really, because the title of the article made me LOL

Ahhh, Firefox, it spends its whole life trying to catch up to Opera. Almost double the size (the installer) and half the features as standard.grannyGeek wrote:I'm running behind the rest of the world as usual.

A strange quote I noticed in the article "somebody please call Opera and tell them the status bar is dead". It is??!! It's the very first thing I enable when I install a new version, how else are you supposed to see where a link takes you?
