Can't find any independent reviews or where this comes from or how it compares to other A/V options. Can someone explain why its useful/better/worthwhile?

It's still a fairly new application, so it might not be picked up by blogs for quite some time. The application appears to be developed in AutoIt or AutoHotKey.

I think it has the same level of accuracy as Stinger, but I would be interested to know where they get their list of Viruses + MD5 signatures. I loaded the .db3 file in Notepad2 and couldn't find any signature of where the information had been obtained.

Still good to have on your USB next to Stinger.
