I've really enjoyed using this program, so just wanted to make others aware of it while it can be gotten for zip, nada, zilch...
Registration link to get the license is http://cintanotes.com/gaotd ; not sure whether that license will work with a normal installer, but the one direct from GAOTD doesn't have its usual day-limited 'wrapper' on its installer.
3 hours officially left for the giveaway, as of now.
Thanks. Applied the license to the portable version and working with XP.

For IPhone owners who dislike the way the ITunes software works on Windows, Digiarty is making their alternative program WinX MediaTrans available for free:
  • Got to https://www.winxdvd.com/ios-android-mob ... ontest.htm;
  • Scroll down, find the "WinX MediaTrans Giveway" tab and click on it;
  • Keep clicking displayed choices until the download button appears.

    A ZIP file named "winx-mediatrans-setup.zip" will download containing an installer and a text file with the license key...

    Program info folows.

Thanks for posting about that. I'll check it out. I have too many apple devices and too little love for iTunes.

Re: Software promotions - Fort encryption

#427 Post by Onesimus Prime »

Noticed this a bit late, but on GOTD today there is a file encryption and password manager program called Fort being given away. Portable versions are available from their homepage and are intentionally compatible with the license key/serial from GOTD (as mentioned by the developer in the comments there).

For portability, the settings need at least one minor tweak after first run, according to other comments:
In the file "PortableRegistry.dat" (created after first run), line 4 will be a full path for where the program was first run. Open this .dat file in Notepad or whatever text editor and change that line to .\Libs\Lang (include the period!)

There's only a little over an hour left to download this program in the giveaway period, so if you see it and want it, grab it!

* edit *
Okay, turns out it's supposedly also available as a giveaway over at SharewareOnSale for another 3 days or so, though reviewers there have noted some critical shortcomings and cautions regarding the program in its current incarnation. Looks like the SoS site gives a different license key, but I'll assume it works with the portable version too.

Haven't tested the program much at all yet myself, but I'm thinking it doesn't appear to be stealth--I'm not convinced it entirely cleans up after itself in the registry, though this could probably be handled with a yaP launcher.

Promotion of Typing Buddy - about 6 hours left.

Links Instructions
  • Download the installer (SharewareOnSale_Giveaway_Typing_Buddy_hub.exe);
  • Launch it- Start - Download and Install - check box "Save installer to my computer in desktop folder - Do not install;
  • Extract the installer (Typing Buddy.exe);
  • Navigate to {app} sub-folder;
  • Launch the executable (TypingBuddy.exe);
  • Data and settings are saved in Settings sub-folder inside program folder;
The program looks cute and seems to be fully portable. It comes preregistered.

Re: Giveaway EASEUS Data Recovery Wizard 4.3.6

#429 Post by webfork »

So someone posted the liteware version of this program to the database: https://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2958 ... but neglected to include the limitations, which are 2 gigs of recoverable data and listed a German screenshot.

https://www.easeus.com/datarecoverywiza ... ftware.htm

Obviously if you were just trying to recover some documents or images, this might not be an issue.

EASEUS has a good free OS migration program that creates a bootable image that allows you to copy a larger HDD image to a smaller SSD

edit: oops, that was AOMEI, not EASEUS

apologies
