Something interesting for people in a love/hate relationship with GIMP's interface ...

Recently a development version was released (2.9.4) which includes a major interface overhaul. You can read the announcement for more details.



The interface, particularly the left sidebar, has evolved into looking more like Photoshop. Sadly, GIMP Portable only packages the latest stable version of GIMP (currently 2.8.18) ...

A GIMP interface revamp is so overdue I'm stunned they finally settled on something. That project had incredible promise when it first came on the scene but I always find some excuse to use a different (frequently non-open) program just because of poor usability.
