Bat_To_Exe compiles .bat and .cmd files into .exe files, embedding any necessary binaries in the process.
Features:
Can run the compiled batch file as a Dos Window, or as "ghost" (invisible),
Can add icons, binaries, version information
Hides the source code of the batch file (autodeletes the batch file after running)
GUI or command-line options for creating compiled batch files.


What I like best is the ghost application aspect, so for all intents and purposes the final product is a Win32 app. (I have only done a bit of testing on Vista so far, but it looks good, if the console app is vista compatible). I also use Horst Schaeffer's Win32 batch utilities to make simple GUIs for some of my batches, making the product fully portable and interactive.

I had been using Quick Batch File Converter for bat conversions
but they always get flagged by av programs.

So I started using this one and no more alarms are being sounded.

Seems the batch files opened up in the temp folder and operate from there.
Kinda like a winrar sfx temp mode archive I guess.
I never noticed if this was how QBFC worked or not but its a pretty cool little utility.
Thanks for the suggestion Cornflower,I have been using batch files alot lately and this is a nice addition to the toolbox.
Now if I could find one for vbs files that wont get alarms I would be set

Note that your reference is to version 1.4.0 or 1.4.1 is now outdated, and spacemonkey posted the update to 1.5.0 with significant improvements:

You can place the embedded files either in the current or the Temporary directory (which I presume uses the %Temp% variable--it appears to do so). This for the most part solves the comment that M^2 made some time ago, perfectly valid for 1.4.x, that compiled batch files have difficulty with directories. It also has an option to overwrite existing files, a Vista manifest, and decompiler mode (though due to a lack of documentation, I am not sure how this one works--it may be just for the programmer him/herself).

This is the first topic I found in my search,I read the others after the fact.

At any rate its a nice alternative to QBFC for me.
I wish I knew why QBFC triggers my AntiVirus and this one doesnt.
oh well.

I've seen a few different attempts at a censorship-proof, distributed service over the years, but only a few have managed to stick around. I2P comes to mind and is evidently still around (https://geti2p.net/en/).

I recognize the success of networks like this will come from tools like moving their hosting, but I'm not thrilled about THIS program. Bat to Exe already gets thrown into so many malware camps, not having a standard, easily viewed website to address concerns will just contribute to the negative reputation.

But these links are not permanent and may disappear, no?
Former home page say "To get access download and run the Zeronet client." wtf

My suggestion is that we treat it as if the program has gone offline, point to a mirror location (like softpedia), and add a quick note to the entry about ZeroNet and a link. I'd go with:

What's the problem with ZeroNet? I visited the program homepage with Firefox Portable just now and everything works fine - I can view the program description and download it. No ZeroNet service or client installed, of course...
