Yes. It's some kind of payment for freeware version.
Installer sugests You to install also some trash software, but you can DECLINE it and install only Linkman!
After that you make it portable and copy to any other location from "Program Files" and then run uninstall.
There is no advertisement in Linkman Free, it is only in installer!

Linkman Free 7.7.1.15 (without installer)

Download Portable Linkman Free 7.7.1.15 (without installer) from RapidShare.com [password: AXL.su]

The only one difference of Linkman Free and Pro that I can find - is a splash screen at program's startup, which can't be disabled from the settings dialog, but it can be easily disabled from the file with settings ("Linkman.ini") by setting value of "ShowSplash" parameter to"0".

On the homepage of Linkman you can read this:
Linkman Pro contains all the features of Linkman Free. In addition
these abilities are included:

* Ability to check URLs for dead links, intelligent (only major) content changes, and page movements

* Replace feature

* Retrieve URL meta tags

* Editable Export Templates (XML, TSV...) with UTF8 support

* Optional installation on USB sticks for mobile usage
So, your link to a portable version must contain the $hareware version!

LinkMan Lite v7.8.0.10 (extracted contents)

#9 Post by Napiophelios »

Its now called...

"LinkMan Lite v7.8.0.10"-installer

HERE's the extracted contents of the exe with the usb.dat file added as Axl said to do.

All settings are set to be saved to an ini file instead of registry.
(This is the only setting I configured;alll other settings are default) :)

Edit:The program settings are writ to an ini file but the app still makes several registry entries.

Old topic update: current Linkman release is v8.95 (changelog is at http://www.outertech.com/linkman-changelog).

Please note that the free Linkman Lite version is assumed to be non-portable, since Outertech is publicizing Linkman Pro portability at http://www.outertech.com/en/portable-bookmark-manager)...
