Dexpot - virtual desktop manager

#1 Post by Ennovy » Tue Sep 02, 2008 5:38 am

Dexpot is a great virtual desktop manager and free for personal use.

Dexpot 1.4.1 now includes a portable version (released august 30, 2008)

Homepage: http://dexpot.de/index.php?id=home

For Windows 95/98/ME and NT4/2000/XP/2003/Vista (incl. x64)

Download: http://dexpot.de/download/dexpot_portable.zip

Settings: Application folder

Stealth: Yes

At startup the language is german. Goto the sytem tray icon and choose "Einstellungen". Under "International" change "Sprache" in English or other language.
Have a nice day

I remember asking for a portable version at their forums about 2 years ago :D

That's just awesome.

Thanks for your feedback.

We've made some changes on the portable version.
When Dexpot Portable does its first startup, its language is set according to the operating system language.

We've had problems with the old build.
A new build 532 is available. Please re-download.

Checker caught this update already but wanted to note that I got pulled in to check again when softpedia listed it as freeware. It's still free for personal use only.

Also, the install version includes opencandy adware.

Did you try this: http://dexpot.de/index.php?id=commoncontrols

I don't use Dexpot anymore, because Windows 10 supports multiple desktops

hi
i know w10 supports multiple desktop but dexpot can force to run a program in a second virtual desktop hiding the taskbar or other stuff,it's very powerfull even under w10

but it's not stealth , at least under w7 i used regscanner and it found so many key related to dexpot
is there a way to clean them?

can somebody test it under w7?

When you used
regsvr32 %windir%\SysWOW64\mscomctl.ocx
to register

use
regsvr32 /u %windir%\SysWOW64\mscomctl.ocx
to unregister
