Which new entries to include in database?
Which submissions do you think should be included in the database but are currently missing?
I am having a bit of time next week, and I thought I would take a vote and get a few with the highest scores into the database.
You can suggest multiple programs. I will aggregate the votes accordingly. Will try my best, but if a program is beyond my capabilities to understand or test, I will just skip to the next entry.
Thanks!

TablePro. It's not just another CSV editor. If you start to use it, you won't be able to live without it. It is small, portable, really fast, and very capable (see virtual columns and formulas, automated tasks).
The site is gone so you can't buy it. It is essentially free, though (one popup window once or twice a year).

Re: Which new entries to include in database?
WordGrinder has been in my ToDo list for a while -- go for it if you care to...
BTW, topic would be better in "Discussion", IMHO.

I think IMAPSize shouldn't be Private anymore.
Also, I develop portable apps (hosted in GitHub) and so far only added 2 of them. Should I use this chance to add more? I don't want to invest the time only to see them listed for years as Private like the program above.

@lwc: I can't guarantee that your additions will become public, since it depends on voting. Even if I vote for an entry, someone else needs to vote for it to make it public.
I was hoping that if more people want to include a program in the database, at least the basic votes will be there to make it public...

Re: Which new entries to include in database?
Be that what it may, I reckon that between lwc and you (and me, although on principle I never upvote anything that I haven't at least tested), that's votes enough to make anything public.Andrew Lee wrote: ↑if more people want to include a program in the database, at least the basic votes will be there to make it public...
Re: Which new entries to include in database?
What about ScummVM? Especially as it's not only portable but since 2022 even stealth:

Added "Portable Mode" in which the executable's directory is used to store application files if a scummvm.ini file is present, instead of the user's profile directory.

Looks like this went public. Great!vevy wrote: ↑Thu Oct 03, 2024 11:56 pm TablePro. It's not just another CSV editor. If you start to use it, you won't be able to live without it. It is small, portable, really fast, and very capable (see virtual columns and formulas, automated tasks).

After spending half an hour playing with this, I decided not to add this. I only tried the GUI version, and spent some time solving the display glitch with italic text.
Frankly, this is a console app like joe (an extremely impressive one at that), but the GUI version does nothing to change that fact!

You're totally right, Andrew. Probably why it was taking me so long...

In that case, please review my LWServer.Midas wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2024 4:03 amBe that what it may, I reckon that between lwc and you (and me, although on principle I never upvote anything that I haven't at least tested), that's votes enough to make anything public.Andrew Lee wrote: ↑if more people want to include a program in the database, at least the basic votes will be there to make it public...
