TextCrawler is a popular find and replace tool, which works across multiple files and supports regular expressions and batch scripting.

License: Freeware
Requires: Win2K - Win7, dotNET 2.0
Download: http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/T ... 77534.html
Stealth: Not sure, I screwed up my initial test.
Disk: 491 k
RAM: ~20 megs

Extract instructions:

* Open Setup file in 7-zip
* Copy the file \$COMMONFILES\TextCrawler\TextCrawler.exe to a folder of your choice and launch

Settings when run outside C:\Program Files appear to be saved to TextCrawler.settings (otherwise goes to appdata\local\textcrawler)

The site references a planned portable version, but that was some time ago. Looks like that got integrated at some point but was never directly referenced.

Update: The program has split off into a free and pro version. I'm not totally clear on the difference and what's missing for free users.

TextCrawler Free is at v.3.1.3 - https://www.digitalvolcano.co.uk/tcchangelog.html

Requires Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 or greater.
