Server update artifact or deliberate forum design change ?
It's a deliberate change.

The default style for the forum is AllanStyle-SUBSILVER. During the server migration, phpBB was upgraded to the latest v3.x version (long overdue). AllanStyle-SUBSILVER also needed to be upgraded to the latest version, which resulted in the change that you see.

I suspect I could modify the style template directly to make it switch sides, but I don't think it's a good idea because any custom changes will mean more troubles down the road when updates to the forum/style are made.

I edited ChromeCacheView today. Click the What's new button and you can see that it doesn't display the list like it used to

Thanks for spotting this! It was quite a challenge to figure out what's wrong, but thankfully the issue has been fixed.

Incidentally and since I favor a more compact look, I have been using the "prosilver Special Edition" board style ever since the last major forum upgrade and couldn't spot any significant change -- it has always had poster details on the right, which I personally prefer, too...

I don't mind the forum post being displayed first, but for those that like the forum author shown first, here's some user CSS:

Code: Select all

/*
==UserCSS==
@name TPFC - Left Forum Author
@match https://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?*
@version        1.0
==/UserCSS==
*/

dl.postprofile {float:left;border-left:0;border-right:1px solid;margin-left:-5px;}
div.postbody {float:right;left:-5px;top:3px;}
is it stealth? ;)

Thanks for the report! I have fixed the problem at the backend, but it could take an hour or two to propagate to Feedburner.

Hi Andrew, I waited a few days but the feed is not updating. Could you please check again. Thanks!
