How to convert .docx to .doc

#1 Post by Mike with the T6 » Fri May 29, 2020 7:12 am

Hello guys. I'm retired and I've just started using FreeDraft as my old (v.old) Autocad software won't run on Windows 10.
I am quite impressed. On a completely different subject, can anybody recommend some freeware to convert .docx files
to .doc (or .PDF).

FreeDraft
Did you want to post this to the FreeDraft thread or was your post mostly about file conversion?

In any case, for DOCX to DOC or PDF, I'd go with LibreOffice. It's not 100% (nothing is) but it covers most functions. And they've got very good DOC support, which is not something I think many other tools out there (including Microsoft) are trying to address.

@Mike,

For the odd, once-in-a-while file conversion, you might also want to consider a free online tool : DocsPal

which offers conversion between multiple file formats https://www.docspal.com/conversion-types

I guess I'm a bit of a dinosaur, but I do like to possess what I use. My thanks to "webfork". LibreOffice works a treat.
