I have a longer response to this in the works
So here's the long version:
---
We do of course keep backups of the site and (with some work) could re-upload the full posts as they were originally listed. However, I don't want to give the impression that when you post here, it's ours now and we do what we want with it. While I'm upset about losing Rudy5 as a contributor, anyone here should feel free to participate and then, if they change their minds later, they can pull the plug. That is a frustrating but important freedom. You could probably summarize this with some statement of content ownership and copyright, but I'm not a lawyer and I'm not sure what that would achieve.
While we avoid editing the content of other people's posts (save for those times when we create a first post "home" thread for entries), we're making an exception this time because there are a lot of entries that are single character names that now take up space in the forums. The edition work necessary to delete old entries make new ones function is a
ridiculous amount of work for volunteers like myself. First you delete the original post,
then you modify he second post to say "this post is replying to a post that was deleted" and
then you check and see if any replies need to be deleted. All of that is then literally multiplied by 100.
As a result, I'll modify those posts to add some basic things to the existing posts. Data that could be found through web searches, backups, and
juverax's posts above. Anyone is welcome to post something to one of those thread and I'll bump it up to the first post.
Either way, all the single-character junk threads should gradually get ironed out in the coming weeks/months.

Finally, I'd like to say that I really appreciated
Rudy5's work on the site and his effort to test programs. It was a great shot in the arm for both me and the site. I love testing freeware programs, both new and old (I always really enjoyed
Baas' posts for this reason), so last week was pretty rough. Not to say that it wasn't somewhat overshadowed by world events, but still.
This is excellent, thank you.
