Little MiniWiki - A small desktop Wiki program

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

I tested LMW a while back. IMHO, two features are preventing wider adoption:

- no clear distinction between content and program controls, mainly in the left pane;
- Dokuwiki's editing syntax feels overly complicated.

To avoid this, I would move all program controls to a single (floatable?) toolbar and make editing Markdown based (viewtopic.php?t=24289). Other than that, I think LMW is a great program. 8)

Two examples from some of the most common types of formatting:
DokuWikiMarkdown
//italics//

BTW, are you aware of WikiCreole? (http://www.wikicreole.org/)

Hi, Midas.

Thank you for your contribution. I understand you're saying.

At first I used the Dokuwiki syntax because I was a DokuWikiStick user (I needed to use a local and portable Wiki system and without complications). But it was quite slow to edit pages (not very agile).

The development of LMW was not very planned. I was in a hurry, I needed the tool for my job. So, it was designing it while providing it with functionalities. :roll:

I find it very interesting to use markdown syntax, in fact I have used it for a while. It's simpler and clearer. I will think about the possibility of migrating.

About WikiCreole, it looks a lot like DokuWiki so...

I will continue to work on these ideas
Thanks

Hey, I totally get that and I'm glad you decided to release it as a freeware. Thanks for that. 8)

Great! I'll be eagerly watching. :)

BTW, as I've mentioned elsewhere, I use a note taker on my mobile that features very well developed Markdown capabilities and, although coming from a totally different platform, it might give you some ideas, should you decide to try it -- it's a tiny bit of FLOSS called Diary (https://github.com/billthefarmer/diary).

That's the reason I pointed it out. I'm crazy about standards. :mrgreen:
