Is this acceptable only from moderators or can all of us use profanities?
I avoid profanities by choice. There is no site policy on this unless it bridges into abuse.

I don't know about billon, but I generally avoid web installer programs to help avoid security issues and I like to know what's happening on my system. Web installers were all the rage back when everyone had slow connections and you needed to download a larger program (I think Netscape had one for a while) but I'm not sure it's necessary anymore thanks to generally better Internet connections and download managers. Some exceptions include dotNET, a few Linux thumbdrive creators, and PortableApps Platform, though that's more of an automated update rather than a small installer present to download a larger file.

From my experience, because the installer is distributed and hosted on multiple websites, many users will download the software from other websites rather from the official website. This creates a problem for me as a developer:

- Many users will download an old version of the software and then will send support emails about bugs which are already fixed or new features that are already implemented in newer versions. I try to avoid this kind of emails by providing a small installer (70KB) that will always download the latest version of the bigger file (188KB). The same can be achieved by the user by visiting the official website and manually download the file.

Anyway, the installer is not needed anymore after you have the software since it has an integrated update mechanism that can be used to update itself. The main executable file will download and replace itself, therefor the installer can be removed permanently.

Biniware Run v.3.0.0.0

After a long period of time, I managed to update the software and give it a more modern touch. I also made it completely freeware and no more web installer. Only one small portable exe. Check the screenshots below.

Change log
- New: The application was rewritten from scratch to be able to support dark theme and target the new .NET 5.0.
- New: Added Dark theme which includes all UI elements.
- New: Added new settings: Theme, Accent color, Font size.
- New: Added a separate color selection dialog.
- New: Added contextual help. Pressing F1 in Configuration window will open the user manual on the related topic.
- New: Added file size column in Updates tab.
- New: Added labels to the tab items.

Nice, thanks. 8)

A request for the future: could Biniware Run also possibly include a toolbar setup? So instead of a menu layout, the app would show a (customizable) mini-toolbar with icons, that gets hidden when something is run...

1. I can make this expanded toolbar optional, instead of showing a circle, it would be a toolbar with the circle on the side.
2. On this toolbar would stay the root nodes from the tree view.
3. Configurable toolbar width (8,12,16,20, etc) icons.
4. Expand button to display the other ones.

Something like this ?

Exactly! 8)

That would be great, at least for me personally.

5. As another suggestion, maybe you could have small tabs, for further categories and icons. (See examples from old TPFC posts of mine at viewtopic.php?p=97481#p97481 & viewtopic.php?p=49293#p49293.)

Thanks for your consideration, alexandrudicu.
