Some security recommendations for
Telegram use from the very EFF:
If you do not have secret chat turned on, your chat communications can be exposed or seen just like channels and groups. If you do turn on secret chat, then Telegram cannot see the contents of your communication, but they still have access to metadata about the communications, including who you talked to and when you talked to them. It may be possible to draw very specific conclusions about what you are doing based only on the metadata about your conversation.

My friends that were using Telegram have mostly moved on to other options but still good to know. Thanks for that.

For those on Android, I'm getting very positive feedback for
Briar (

But bearing in mind most people I know still stick to
WhatsApp and that a messaging app is only as good as the number of your acquaintances that use it... plus, those 2GB file transfer allocation are difficult to beat for sure.

It's stealth, but with every update you have to delete couple of registry keys that creates
