As noted above by bitcoin, OutWiker v3.1.0 released 2022-04-16 (changelog is at https://jenyay.net/Outwiker/VersionHistoryEn).

Must highlight that OutWiker now fully supports Markdown through a free plugin -- although I couldn't phantom how to make it the default page format (see example below).

BTW, OutWiker effectively uses the filesystem as its database engine, with each wiki page residing in a separate folder, where it can be easily accessed by other programs (there are usually 3 files: '__page.text' contains the page contents, '__page.opt' the page metadata, and '__content.html' its HTML preview).
