Patch My PC is small - and free - utility can not only monitor over a hundred common applications for updates, but can also install those for you silently while you work. Applications it is compatible with range from commonly used products such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Adobe Flash Player to more obscure stuff such as ImgBurn and SandBoxie.

And just in case that makes you worried about getting a ton of bloatware on your system, if Patch My PC detects any bloatware payload with an update, it silently remove that too.

The tool is also portable, meaning that you can pop it onto a USB flash drive and run it on multiple systems. And it can also scan for missing Windows updates.

• And that was the main reason that kept me from posting it: upon testing, I noticed just in time how it was just about to start deleting stuff (I don't have any bloatware in my PC) without even prompting me. That's a total no-no in my book, so I promptly got rid of it...

Status: Not portable ... writes to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Tracing\PatchMyPC_RASMANCS and HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Patch My PC

Would probably still work off a USB drive and probably works better in some areas than SuMO.

Few notes:

* Very fast. Almost immediately after loading it
* Maybe it goes without saying, but this only checks installed software (e.g. it'll find Firefox installation but not Firefox Portable)

Patch My PC Updater is a portable application meaning that it doesn’t install on your PC. To uninstall Patch My PC, simply delete 'PatchMyPC.exe'.
