Old thread update: this program is still seeing updates as of late 2018. Unfortunately I can't find an up-to-date changelog and the site is coming up with a "may contain harmful software" message. Softpedia is still listing them: https://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Image-Convertors/FormatFactory.shtml

Topic update: although Format Factory's original homepage seems to be missing, it's apparently still in development -- with Softpedia linking to a v5.17.0.0 released as recently as 2024-01-30... :?
BTW, noticed this after some spammer tried to link a shady Format Factory v5.4.5.0 download.

Another version that frequently crashes. I'm still using version 5.7.5.0 because of this."
Malicious download.. I don't know why this is dangerous but maybe you all can fix it?"

Hi, it's in red in multiple locations.
Limitations:
Offers to install Spyhunter, Avast, or other PUPs during installation
If you're not willing to be careful during installation, check this category (near the top) for other apps.

My best advice is to totally forget it
