Pity this app does not monitor the registry for changes, hope it's on the to-do list.

Number of events this thing covers was impressive. It's more than just file activity: it's associations, attributes, adding/removing a drive, and network share/unshare. The program will also filter by extension (include only) and file path (exclude only). All that is a step above the other monitors I've tested.

Note that the record doesn't distinguish between file creation and file modification, but the text of the log does. For example: First creating, then editing it will look like this:

Code: Select all

file.txt	-	Create	C:\file.txt
file.txt	-	Update File	C:\file.txt
Saves settings to config.ini

I realized today (despite my note about it being offline) that I'm still using this program many years later to easily observe system behavior. Does anyone else have a better program?

I still use Process Monitor.

Not stealth, but fits my needs so far.
