The community-developed version that Zotero support is pointing to is seeing ongoing updates. I tested the August release. Not a resounding win yet ...

Import

I couldn't seem to get it to import a random PDF file, despite that being one of it's primary features. Not sure what's happening there.

Integration

It's still no ideal: the program seems to require Java installation, meaning no jPortable option yet and I didn't see anything for LibreOffice Portable.

I wasn't able to get it to work with Firefox Portable, despite the mention on the dev page.

A shame really, as there aren't a lot of options for free bibliographic managers as we stand. :(

No, I've had a few conversations about this over the last year and it's not a great situation. An easy option for students and casual researchers should be a lot easier.
