Thanks. Actually saw that in my searches but didn't notice the relevant part lower down.

So the steps for anyone reading this:
  • Find NPSWF32.dll on your system from some other Flash install (easily found with Everything).
  • Copy to <pathtoapp>\ChromiumPortable\App\Chromium\x64\ or wherever the chrome.exe is located.
Voila.

Does this show up every time I open the browser?
Is there any way to disable these popups?

Chromium Portable has that problem, WinPenPack's X-Chromium doesn't.

FWIW, I use X-Chromium with this update script:
https://github.com/JustOff/cpf-update-win
is it stealth? ;)

I use X-Chromium with this new updater:
- chrlauncher (CHRomium Launcher): http://www.henrypp.org/product/chrlauncher

How to:
1. download the latest release (v1.4 at this moment) and copy it in the X-Cromium folder
2. unzip the file 'chrlauncher_1.4_portable.rar' and edit the file 'chrlauncher.ini'
3. inside 'chrlauncher.ini' in the the heading 'Chromium binaries directory' edit the entry 'ChromiumDirectory=\Bin\Chrome' (without ') and remove
the hash character (pound) from start of line, otherwise it does not work.

Here is my 'chrlauncher.ini' modified:

Code: Select all

[chrlauncher]

# Select Chromium architecture:
#
# 0 -> auto detected
# 64 -> check for 64-bit Chromium
# 32 -> check for 32-bit Chromium
ChromiumArchitecture=64

# Check for new version once in X days:
#
# 0 -> disable update checking
# 1 -> once in day
ChromiumCheckDays=0

# Command line for run Chromium
# See here: http://peter.sh/experiments/chromium-command-line-switches/
#
#ChromiumCommandLine=--user-data-dir=..\profile --no-default-browser-check

# Chromium binaries directory
#
ChromiumDirectory=\Bin\Chrome
b.t.w.
this updater is portable.

When You install Chromium Portable it will create some folders:
- App
- Data
- Other
So You must:
1. because the folder'Data' is empty so You must create two folders inside 'Data':
- '\App\PepperFlash\32'
- '\App\PepperFlash\64'
2. then You must go to PCR's notepad https://notepad.patheticcockroach.com/c ... are/flash/ and download from his backup mirror http://img.patheticcockroach.com/01/Fla ... -Chrome.7z the lastest version of archive with 'Flash 23.0.0.162 for portable Firefox/Chrome': open this archive and extract one of these folders:
- Pepper32
- Pepper64
3. and copy the content of one of these folder to appropriate subfolder '\32' or '\64' (see point nr. 1)
4. rename the file 'pepflashplayerxx_23_0_0_162.dll' to 'peflashplayer.dll (the xx means 32 or 64 bit)
5. the exact 'type' of portable Pepper Flash plugin portable depend from Your Windows installed (32 or 64 bit)
6. test for Pepper Flash portable plugin: go to 'http://www.best-flash-games.net/' and play a game
7. why it's works ? Because kAlug has already inserted the command line options for Pepper Flash plugin in his launcher 'ChromiumPortable.exe' :wink:

Note_1
For some raisons, kAlug will not create the subfolders as point nr. 1

Note_2
I have made this test with latest Chromium installer: 'ChromiumPortable_54.0.2840.8.paf.exe'

! Project dormant. The last release is over six months old, and no further updates are scheduled at the moment.

FYI, people using Chromium (or Chrome or any variation whatsoever) might find this very comprehensive list handy:

I gave it a little longer to see if something changed but no dice. I've added something to both the thread and the entry.

It seems that WinPenPack has an up-to-date version (X-Chromium 72.0.3593.0 [rev16], last updated on Saturday 27 October 2018). Not tested.
