Have you ever tried Minimizer-XP (http://www.totalidea.com/files/mini-xp.zip) ? I think this program is more convenient by creating an minimize- to-tray icon to the title-bar.

The program writes setting to registry but i have created a laucher for it ;)(sourcecode's included): http://www.orbitfiles.com/download/id1248338519

Old topic update: TP109 reported (https://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=1176#comment30501) that Iconize v2.0.0.5 is nowhere to be found, even at Softpedia.

The Wayback Machine still has a 2007 snapshot of it at web.archive.org /web/20070227013643/http://brooksyounce.tripod.com:80 /downloads/bysoft/Iconize_Installer.zip -- but I'm afraid that's an older version (untested!).

The motive for my suspicion is the fact the changelog there ends at v1.0.0.7, dated 2004-06-16: check web.archive.org /web/20071104014833/http://brooksyounce.tripod.com:80/versions/Iconize.htm.

BTW, the old mirror at SnapFiles (http://www.snapfiles.com/get/iconize.html) is 404, too.

I managed to get Iconize v2.0.0.5 from a single source and as Virustotal declares the executable inside the archive to be entirely kosher (see below), I mirrored it to https://mir.cr/MFXOYEQE.

I was able to track down thanks to alert user TalkOrBell, who pointed me to this link: http://www.pc-infopratique.com/telechar ... og-67.html

This is unfortunately only version 2.0.0.3, but it worked fine under Windows 7 32-bit.

Download this file I was able to open the installer with 7zip and get to the core files:

Unfortunately I'm not getting anything on VirusTotal - no recognition for either the RAR file or the included EXE.

EXE: 1A437077C1D90F3BE335303EA8CD0BAD06AEB58F76805922DD2D43E19C10B834
RAR: 4E489EDE2E46259C0D10C10227D1E74C658FF893B5B1189119ECD770BA6DC581

As it's a somewhat old file, I'd expect it to have some kind of registry in that database so I can't test those out.

UPDATE: because one of Don54's other posts is coming up as a virus, the link has been disabled.

I found a copy of 2.0.0.5 at https://ccm.net/download/download-1909-iconize. Appears to be a legitimate site. VirusTotal did not appear to find fault with the download.

Both the file and it's contents are listed as "undetected" meaning it has no reputation at all. I also would not trust this version.

No problem at all. I spend a lot of time and energy tracking down old software and this is very unusual.

Quick note responding to some messages I've received: while I appreciate all the effort to find this program, I would like to request everyone run their files through VirusTotal before posting. If it has no reputation there, meaning it replies: "No engines detected this file" it's not what we're looking for. Thanks.

I found ver 2.0.0.5 in a old download collection. In the detail section it is as version 2.0.0.5 and date modified 11/8/2008. File attached. Hope it is the right version.

Reason: Attachment removed -- due to bandwidth issues, we cannot host programs on this site.

Quoting my earlier post with emphasis:

The attachment that nolajovol posted was removed. Site policy doesn't allow hosting programs unless specifically allowed by the admin. We don't have bandwidth to host software regardless of VT status.
