Technitium MAC Address Changer (TMAC)

Version: 6.0.5
Programmer: Shreyas Zare
System Requirements: Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista/Server 2008/7/Server 2008 R2/8/Server 2012
Release Date: 20 Oct 2013
Cost: FREEWARE
Dependencies: Administrative Rights
Stealth: No (not without PAF launcher)
Technitium MAC Address Changer allows you to change Media Access Control (MAC) Address of your Network Interface Card (NIC) irrespective to your NIC manufacturer or its driver. It has a very simple user interface and provides ample information regarding each NIC in the machine. Every NIC has a MAC address hard coded in its circuit by the manufacturer. This hard coded MAC address is used by windows drivers to access Ethernet Network (LAN). This tool can set a new MAC address to your NIC, bypassing the original hard coded MAC address. Technitium MAC Address Changer is a must tool in every security professionals tool box.

- VirusTotal Report
- requires Administrative Rights
✔ stealth
✔ portable.
- original MACs are backed up and stored in Data\settings.
- IEEE Database is updateable.

1. Use Sandboxie to Install, copy application files, Uninstall to avoid the registry junk.

2. Technitium Installer requires Administrative Rights.

3. TMAC.exe needs msvbvm60.dll to run.

4.
This software just writes a value into the windows registry. When the Network Adapter Device is enabled, windows searches for the registry value 'NetworkAddress' in the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1- 08002bE10318}\[ID of NIC e.g. 0001]. If a value is present, windows will use it as MAC address, if not, windows will use the hard coded manufacturer provided MAC address. Simple? Some Network Adapter drivers have this facility built-in. It can be found in the Advance settings tab in the Network Adapter's Device properties in Windows Device Manager.

I know this is going to sound patronising but ...
Magibon's post was as good as it gets and I am Baas added a few useful titbits.
I can now see how a static IP can be changed.
Thanks a lot.

i appreciate your support John,
but please support all member's comments.
the reason i have become such a freeware/portable enthusiast is because of PortableFreeware and all contributions from all members.

lets make this a community, any input is good, and Baas provided the mechanism for extracting, and further explanation regarding the Registry, plus he pointed the dependencies which i missed.

plus, i asked for help :)

I have never realized how many useful freeware there are, and the importance of portability for my PCs performance.

I love this site, the community, and contributions.

Let's all help each other.

Thanks John.

that's a very good review..
i can tell they actually used it before writing that review :)

i was going to write a little tutorial/more in-depth description but felt it was improper/scare off users.

i use a router, so i use TMAC to generate random MACs.
i used other MAC Spoofing tools in the past but the random MACs they generated were not compatible.
i find TMAC the most reliable.

i then manually modify the MAC in the router's settings page (192.168.1.1), release my laptop's IP, shut it down, then unplug my router and modem for 10 seconds.
I then plug the modem/router back in, wait for it to lock, then boot up my laptop.
It works 99.9% of the time.

On the rare occasion it doesn't work due to incompatible MAC, i just repeat the process.

For people who are not behind a router, they can use TMAC directly.

First, pardon for necro bumping, I'm really sorry for it.

Could someone has the the mirror of the link above?
"TMACPortable_6.0.5_English.paf.exe"
http://s000.tinyupload.com/index.php?fi ... 1125246983

The link is dead, I've been looking for this particular software in .paf format but couldn't found it anywhere.

This one is also dead
https://www.thinstallsoft.com/technitiu ... s-changer/

So could anyone please post the mirror link or upload here the paf format of this software?

Pardon, I think you misread my problem. I'm aware that the official site is up and running. I'm asking the software in PortableApps or .paf format that the original poster posted instead.
