Love the Live Cd idea here...
So I tried and it did not recognized the wireless mouse, but okay just the time to get another old wired mouse and it was working after relaunching the live CD.
I guess I will have to wait a little bit more longer to have all my hardware recognized.
What a so ambitious project. What an effort. I applaud the team behind this OS for lots of reasons and to not let it go to a dark cupboard. Respect for the work and the people there too. Thanks guys, you are doing a great job.
On MIDAS provided link you can download two flavours of this OS: to install on the PC or live CD (try before install is best). I cannot describe too much the OS as I am sure it does react differently then the install version. If someone does I would like to hear result about it... how was the installation, recognition of hardware... this sort of stuff. I wonder if it is possible to run it under VMWare Workstation 12 player. To little documentation given, fair enough; better a superb software with little starter documentation then a crappy one with 400 pages no one will read anyway or when all fails blah blah. However, on the same provided link there is a list of hardware recognized by the OS. It sounds it can handle old PC very well and might also be a way to give them a second live chance with this OS even it is not the primary goal of this OS obviously. The OS is NOT demanding in RAM and CPU cycle at all, check it out by yourself. Actually it's amazing how they manage the hardware resources. Lessons new software developer should learn but most will never do because too lazy, don't care for any reason or under pressure, IMHO. Where is the time a byte won was an achievement? I am losing myself in an academic monologue so let's return to the task at hand.
If you choose to try the live CD download link from the authors site you will be ask for a donation, and it's more then understandable. That is up to you guys regarding your finance. Consider the hard
HARD work behind this OS and the time and effort given away from family and relative... just to offer a product for free. A big sacrifice hidden behind a passion. I am not doing a lecture but you get my drift, I stop here.
If you want a direct link to this Live CD, here it is:
