One possible fix for Corrupted JPEG Headers

#1 Post by grannyGeek »

I found this page the other day
http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read. ... e=10291113

I've been seeing a number of posts around and about, many folks are getting jpeg error messages after moving or copying or "recovering deleted" jpeg files, and this procedure might help some. (I've seen mention that Vista is even worse in this area.)

Basically, you must use a hex editor to graft a header from a healthy file with the image from the sick file.
Sounds tedious and time-consuming, but if you lost pics of your child's first birthday party, I bet it would be worth it.

Hope this turns out useful to someone, somewhere, somewhen .......
