Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.
One of the biggest “improvements” that Mozilla claims is improved memory usage, in particular, the vanquishing of memory leaks. If you thought it was too good to be true you were right. Firefox still uses a lot of memory – way too much memory for a web browser.
We like keeping our apps running for a few days (that’s just the way we roll) and because of this Firefox was using over ~800MB of memory after about 3 days. It’s quite normal for Firefox to be sucking up ~100MB of memory right off the bat (in a memory leak you’ll see the memory usage keep increasing the longer the browser is open/in-use).
Rather than complaining about it, we decided to fix it. Enter Firemin; simply put; it will eliminate all memory leaks in Firefox. All we did was tweaked our memory optimization engine a little and applied it to Firefox (including Firefox extensions) and all the memory leaks was gone. To use Firemin; you will need to download the Firemin.exe file, decompress it and run Firemin.exe from the extracted folder.
I'm so tired to hear that Firefox/Opera/Whatever use too much memory! So my Firefox uses 1GB of RAM. So what?! I bought that RAM to be used by the applications, not preserved! What's the point in having unused RAM? I'm still waiting for someone to say that one app used so much memory that the system became unusable! I mean... WTH?!

An example of why it may matter:
A 2 gigabyte machine with Firefox logged into a NetFlicks Account,
and a dvd burner/encoder program in the background.
Firefox is doing nothing but acting as a Frame/Gui for NetFlicks,
while a FlashPlayer That updates far too often plays a video and does almost everything.
In that situation a memory leak may freeze both programs requiring a shutdown of one.
Sometimes TaskManager must be called, and usually the Video is lost.
This can be irksum if you spend a lot of time creating the perfect home video.
Yeah, but doing video transcoding on a machine with 2gb of memory while browsing the internet and viewing flash content? Who does that? Why would anyone do that? Using PC's resources in a responsible manner is the owner's duty.
I'm not saying that Firefox's memory management couldn't/shouldn't be improved. But I don't think that it is a real problem right now, for the stable builds. Or maybe it is and I haven't seen it yet...anything is possible.
