SoftPerfect Network Scanner

The interface is very nice and there are some great command line switches. To make it portable though, you must use the /ini switch to write settings to an ini file rather than the registry.

not free, admin rights required

This program is NOT free. With some perfidity, it tells you so upon quitting it, not upon start ...

Besides, it requires admin rights to run.

Cheers

Can someone else verify this?

I just tried it again, and don't see anything non-free associated with it. The "About" screen says it is "FREEWARE" in caps.

I am also running it from a "Normal User" account on my Win2K virtual machine without problems.

Oops, mea culpa :(

I had downloaded the "Network Protocol Analyzer" instead of the "Network Scanner" - it was the first item on the download page and sounded similar ...

I apologize. No issues found so far with the Network Scanner - what I had reported was true for the Analyzer.

Sorry
Chris

Very old topic update: this is the official forum topic for SoftPerfect Network Scanner (https://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=730) so, after complaints in the database entry of downloading difficulties, I created some further mirrors for the last free version (v6.2.1; includes both 32 and 64-bit) at:

Thanks Midas -- I was chatting with Userfriendly over site messaging and he shared some updated mirrors. I just got those posted but I'll go back and add yours as well.

EDIT: Could you post the MD5, SHA1, and/or SHA256 hash for that?
