EssentialPIM - personal information manager

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

There's some discussion in the entry comments around how the site JUST switched over to download.com. I can confirm that and that softpedia is hosting the same file. I'd definitely prefer linking to them so I'll update the entry.

@webfork
In fact Softpedia is hosting the previous version (6.58) which in my opinion looks better than the latest one (7.00).

Dang. I should have seen that. As we're reporting the entry is v.7.00 I don't want to confuse anybody so I guess I'll switch back. Sigh.

Edit: found a link local to the site on the pro vs. free page (http://www.essentialpim.com/pc-version/pro-vs-free). I'll use that.

I have not tested EssentialPIM but I use a similar program, EfficientPIM, which also has a Free Edition. I am curious- has anyone ever tested simultaneously and compared EfficientPIM to EfficientPIM.

A screen-shot of EfficientPIM (Pro version):

The download link you provided is for the Pro version of EssentialPIM.
The download links for the Free version (Installer & Portable) at Pro vs. Free page also point at Download.com.

In this case (EssentialPIM free portable) the download link from cnet gives you the full program (13.5 MB zip file), not their online installer.

Dangit. I'll bump it to the original link. Thanks for catching that.
