how does the ordering work for pfc

#1 Post by pocps »

hi everyone. thank you for this superb site. just excellento.

i routinely visit here to pickup new and updated apps.

i notice that no matter how i set the listings (detailed view), it always happens this:

generally, apps are listed with newest (updated, or actually new) in highest position.
but if you scroll down enough, you'll find an app that is supposed to be higher than it is (based on its date).

Q-DIR is a current example, with mar 17 updated, but appear below march 15.

this leaves me to wonder where i left off last visit.

can someone tell me how i can order items such that i can identify the point where i left off last?
above which all items i have not seen,
below which all items i have seen.

thank you!!

There was a decision earlier to ignore version updates that are less than 7 days apart to prevent frequently updated apps to be constantly bumped to the top of the main listing.

If you look at Q-Dir's update history, there were two version updates made:

- 11 Mar
- 17 Mar

So the latter will be ignored in the ordering.

If you want to see _all_ version updates, they are in the "Recent updates" block on the right side bar, but that only shows the last 15 version updates.

thank you for your response.

so then, if an app updates every 7 days (or less than 7 days), we may not ever see it.

is that right?

thank you.

No, it's not. An update doesn't reset the timer if it doesn't bring the program to the main page.

No, after a fixed number of updates it will come to the main site again
