.NET versions tool

#1 Post by guinness »

Is there any need for a tool that displays what versions of .NET are installed on the system that doesn't use .NET? I'm thinking about creating one.

Let me know what you think. Thanks.

An excelent idea, IMHO, lest we find ourselves facing the proverbial "chicken or egg" dilemma (I'm thinking particularly of environments like PE liveCDs and such).

BTW, and for the benefit of third parties arriving here, some .Net dependent tools of this kind have been listed @ http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... hp?t=16384

I like the idea, a tool that does not 'require' a .NET installation to run, is this what you mean by 'use'?

The link that has been pointed to, the other discussion on .NET tools, I added .NET Version Detector - of course, I'm new so the post like this one is awaiting approval. :)

Hadn't noticed this until now:
