Rename the extension? Or perhaps you could use AppDefend, from the site:

AppDefend adds a significant number of different and valuable protections to your computer. With AppDefend installed you have complete control over priviledged actions occuring on your computer.
* Network Access
* Rootkit Installations
* Blocks all leaktests
* Process Creation/Execution/Modification
* Thread and Process termination
* Thread Context Changing
* Direct Physical Memory Access
* Global Hooking (keyloggers)
* Remote Thread Creation
* Thread and Process Suspension

I tried it and it can be troublesome, as it asked you whenever there is something. It's not freeware and not portable tho, but you can try it first to see if it can help.

seems to me the problem is in the way the script is being used. shouldn't it have some sort of include/exclude lists as backup, and sync scripts/programs do? perhaps it just needs to be setup differently or am i missing something :?
