Simon.T, somehow I find myself agreeing that this is funny...
(The idiocy of the poster)

Although it won't be when some noob downloads it without thinking.

And, although I don't have Norton, (the AV plainly sucks), I'll try to see if I can scan it by obtaining a copy (no promises here). If NORTON can find it, It's certainly a virus!

I'll post the screenshot when I've gotten the results =).

Edit: Here's Symantec Antivirus:

I have removed the URL and banned the original poster.

Anyway, it's quite easy to disable the splash screen under Firefox Portable. Just create a file called FirefoxPortable.ini in the same folder as FirefoxPortable.exe, then add this parameter to the INI file:

Code: Select all

DisableSplashScreen=true
All the possible parameters are listed in Other\FirefoxPortableSource\Readme.txt.

I wish I could rip out these unworthy elements myself. I remember deleting this thread and hoping that this guy would get the idea but instead he makes a NEW THREAD! I hate that!

It's a sad state of affairs when you have to beg people to run your virus... what is the world coming to!

I'm off to knee-cap me a slacker-hacker...
