Loaddrv

#1 Post by Chris »

First, thanks for this great place.
I want to add something here since I tried to searched but found nothing about Loaddrv.

It allows user to install driver.
Use: Write the directory and the file name of the driver (Ex: D:\System\Drivers\Giveio.sys), click install and click start.

I tested it with Giveio.sys from SpeedFan.
I checked the system partition after installed the driver from another partition, and found no Giveio.sys.
It did write in the registry the location of the file (Giveio.sys), and other stuff. But it will erase things from the registry if the remove button is clicked.
Note: I'm not an expert, my computer settings is not common, and I did not compare all the registry nor monitoring the folder from clean run of the program so I'm not sure if it "really" clean or not.

There is also Loaddrv.exe for command prompt, so users can make a batch file. I did try it with SpeedFan and it worked. So the Giveio.sys will only start if the SpeedFan runs in a batch I created. For cleaner use I think Reg Rapper would be excellent.
Perhaps it can be run from clean install Windows, without difficulties copying the driver to the system folder.
Can somebody confirm this or add something?[/url]
