This is by far the best viewer for archived comics
...and not bad for a default image viewer either.

Doesnt support pdf files.
Doesnt support password protected archives.

Is it Stealth? No.

Leaves image file ( hv3bkgnd.png ) local temp folder.

If you use the program to set your desktop wallaper, Files and Folders are created :

%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Kipple
%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Kipple\HoneyView3
%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Kipple\HoneyView3\Wallpaper.bmp

I added HoneyView to the DB , please vote.

Honeyview v5

#4 Post by Userfriendly »

http://www.portablefreeware.com/index.php?id=2497
New version and new website.
http://www.bandisoft.com/honeyview/
Installer:http://bandisoft.googlecode.com/svn/hon ... -SETUP.EXE
Portable Archive:http://bandisoft.googlecode.com/svn/hon ... RTABLE.ZIP

The zip download is 32bit but you can extract the 64bit executable and 64bit dll plugins from the installer and use them portably. There's a config.ini setting with makes it portable. "is_portable = 1" and possibly "config_id = gl_p".

Various display options including Fill and Parallel View modes.
'Photo folder' function to store any preferred pictures in it.
Direct location view on Google Maps with GPS information included in photos.
Users can copy preferred photos to 'Photo folder'.
Users can copy the image displayed to the clipboard (Ctrl + C).

the new Honeyview5 does seem alot more stable and faster than v3
but I really dont like all the subtle little changes made to the gui and its behaviors
Unlike HVP3, the v5 honeyview portable does support passworded archives which I like
but I will probly never use any of the other new features added.
I am just gonna stick with v3 for now.

I wonder what v4 was like?

Tested out HoneyView a bit more and very impressed, especially with it's ability to open images recursively and then filter through them in slideshow format and by date/name/size/type. Saves a lot of energy changing folders.

You can run a 64-bit version portable (requires a little effort though) :)

v5.06 is out
http://www.bandisoft.com/honeyview/history/

Especially like that the minimum window size is reduced. So many programs won't go below 1024x768 lately and it's annoying ... a graphics viewer especially should get out of your way if you need.
