I dont much like SFX type portables.
You have to rebuild the SFX anytime you wanna change or save your settings.
Its good I guess as far as compression goes, keeping your apps smaller.
You see them most used on live rescue cd's alot.

Plus its misleading because not all software can be extracted with UniExtract. And what about the stealth element of the app?

I dont have WinRAR installed but I always seem to get this reg entry when I extract/use a WinRAR SFX file:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WinRAR SFX]

I believe the rest is the usual "recently used" reg entries all portables make.

Also some program components cant be deleted until the system is restarted.
I turned a couple of small JPE portables into SFX tempmode portables and the jauntePE dll remains.

TPFC was mentioned in the comments as a better option in creating Portable Software.
