HotFusion (ultimate file binder and exe joiner)

#1 Post by Island Boy »

Hotfusion v0.8 is a free file binder tool that can be used to bind files of all types into a single fused module for silent self-extraction. Below are some features of Hotfusion.

Features and configurations:
  • Binds files of all types
Sets user defined icon of fused module
    Randomly renames files on extraction
Moves each bound file to it's desired destination
Sequentially runs bound files on extraction
Randomize signature of fused module to prevent detection by anti-virus
Silently registers bound libraries on extraction (dll, ocx) *
Adds bound files to startup using different methods
    Silent self destruction **
    Saves fusion configuration *
* Will be available in v-1.0.0
** Tested on Windows XP

If it's something smart and doesn't create temporary files, this "feature" makes it useless as it lets you easily hide malware = is malware = shouldn't be allowed by AV companies.

Kind of seems more like a malware tool than an installer...maybe I'm just not seeing all the scenarios...

Molebox and ThinApp.
Both commercial, the latter very expensive.
For free you can create SFX archives with 7zip or SQX, but you pay with much longer startup times.

It's good for making portable documents for non-computer-educated people.

For example, my cousin asked me to find him a version of Galaga he could play on his computer, so I packed an emulator an rom into an exe making it self executable.

but that's just one use :]

anyway, his download page is down, so I can't find access to version 0.9.2
