Hotfusion v0.8 is a free file binder tool that can be used to bind files of all types into a single fused module for silent self-extraction. Below are some features of Hotfusion.

If it's something smart and doesn't create temporary files, this "feature" makes it useless as it lets you easily hide malware = is malware = shouldn't be allowed by AV companies.
Molebox and ThinApp.
Both commercial, the latter very expensive.
For free you can create SFX archives with 7zip or SQX, but you pay with much longer startup times.
It's good for making portable documents for non-computer-educated people.
For example, my cousin asked me to find him a version of Galaga he could play on his computer, so I packed an emulator an rom into an exe making it self executable.
