a program designed to compare images and delete duplicates. filter and everything is there.

very easy to use and very portable (as much as I know. any comments appreciated).

Thanks for sharing. I will definitely use it.

As for portability,

It writes it's settings to the registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ozone\VisiPics"

It runs just fine as is, but the settings will be reset across computers.

Here's a sypnosis

Category: Files - Duplicate Checkers, Graphics - Miscellaneous

Synopsis: Visipic is a program that is considerably faster than any other commercial product and has an interface that let you do other things while Visipics automatically finds your duplicated images. It will detect two different resolution files of the same picture as a duplicate, or the same picture saved in different formats, or duplicates where only minor cosmetic changes have taken place.

Writes settings to: Registry

How to extract: Download the installer and install to the default folder. Then copy all files (except unins000.exe and unins000.dat) to a folder of your choice. Finally, uninstall the program. Launch VisiPics.exe.

Stealth: No

Path portability: No

Unicode support: No

License: Freeware

System Requirements: Win2K / WinXP / Vista

I think it means for example recently used files are used as relative paths, instead of full paths.

VisiPics supports saving the results to a project file, those directories are saved as full paths. So if you changed to a new computer and files were on your USB, say the pictures were at H:\pictures, and now it's assign to J:\pictures, you're files will still exists but VisiPics will think it hasn't moved and assume those files are still at H:\pictures.

I hope I didn't confuse your even more.
