DUDE - DUplicates DEtector

#1 Post by webfork »

An impressive duplicate detection program for Windows and Linux. Unique in it's support for regular expressions and command-line triggers.

Steps:

1. Download the "raw" program from https://github.com/PJDude/dude/releases as it doesn't trigger AV warnings
2. Launch dude.exe

Status: Not portable. Writes to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\dude\dude\cfg.ini

System requirements: Monitor needs to be at least 1202x852 in size -- won't reduce in size below that.

Hello everyone, author here.
As I can see, portability is a serious business, isn't it ? No kidding :)
Please check latest build, it is portable now, as much as it can be. Information about it in "portability" section in readme:
https://github.com/PJDude/dude
I also modified the minimum window size and added more information on AV warnings of compressed binary.
Thank You for your interest in the application and best regards.

Update: Dude v1.0407.624 came out two days ago with lots of updates since it was last posted.

Notice on the homepage:
Portability

Dude writes log files, configuration and cache files in runtime. Default location for these files is dude.data folder, created next to the dude executable file. If there are no write access rights to such folder, platform-specific folders are used for cache, settings and logs (provided by appdirs module). You can use --appdirs command line switch to force that behavior even when dude.data is accessible.
