Hi all,

could someone pls explain me how to make Rainlendar 2.6 portable? During the install, I don't get an option for portable:-(

Also, would it be possible to have the paid version portable? I would like to have the Google calendar feature, but of course portably.

Thanks for any advice!
Chris

The instructions we have are out of date but Rainlendar (thank goodness) is still very portable. From the Rainlendar FAQ:
Yes, you can. You can just copy everything from the Rainlendar's program folder to the USB memory and create an empty text file called rainlendar2.ini in the same folder where the executable is. This will make Rainlendar2 to store the settings and all the events and tasks to it's program folder so the data will be on the USB memory too.
I'd be surprised if the Pro version doesn't have the same functionality.

Further recommendations

1. Uncheck all the boxes in the installation program
2. You can install directly to your desktop where it will auto-create a "Rainlendar2" folder. Create an empty text file and name it "Rainlendar2.ini" and you're all set. Dump the folder on your key drive or where ever.

To reset settings

For privacy or to start over with defaults:

1. Delete "Rainlendar2.ini" as well as "backups" folder and "rainlendar2.log"
2. Recreate the "Rainlendar2.ini"

I do confirm it works as you described - thanks a lot, webfork!!! Including the licensed version, btw.

Sorry for not responding earlier.

The latest rainlendar has a "Quick Add" function that's reminiscent of Google's Calendar tool by the same name. So you type "Appointment October 1 9am" and it automatically creates a calendar entry with that information. Its not as smart as Google Calendar (you can't abbreviate), but its still pretty effective.

Turn it on by doing the following:

1. Right click the task bar icon
2. Select "Options"
3. Choose the "Skins" tab
4. Click the "+" sign next to "Shadow4"
5. Choose "QuickAdd" from the list and click the arrow icon to the right.
6. Click OK at the bottom of the window.
