Another major project in the past few weeks with a terrible VT rating is bad for everyone. Anyway, I ran a check on the various different files that are put out by this project (below).
hi
i agree
i tried to download and eset (nod32 ) barks with a warning , trojan and don't remember
i guess they have update their virus(virii) database , now still barks and doesn't let me install or download
i have to disable it
that's a pitty , it a very old program but amazing , with cdex i have ripped lots but lots but lots of cd without a glitch ,included scratched cd
never never never had a bad surprice
while with eac (exact audio copy) i ripped many cd without a scratch (brand news) and i had sometime bad experience ,even i was used to buy plextor cd burners (happy days)
ps would be great have a portable eac and full portable cdex with a tutorial how extract it and remove the ads or malware
thanks

The bits considered as malicious are a part of the installer. CDex Portable will download the installer and extract the files, protecting you from the bundleware. It may still trigger your antivirus even though the installer isn't run. The files within the installer itself are verified clean before each release of CDex Portable. Details are here: https://portableapps.com/apps/music_vid ... #app-notes

Note that CDex is no longer open source, so we can't take the clean files and repackage them.

CDex 1.7.0 was the last open source version. The source code was removed in 2015. We still have it available for download here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/portab ... urce/CDEx/

You can still download CDex Portable 1.7 as well as a complete package.

It's clean. If you remain skeptical for any downloads from our site or elsewhere, please run them past VirusTotal.com individually for analysis.
