Wanted to point out an update on two peices of software:
First: Quick 'n Easy FTP Server V2.7.1

(I have no idea if its still portable, especially with the appearance of a professional/lite version split.)

I'm pushing this one up to let you know how to make Quick 'n Easy FTP Server registry write free.
Quoting Pablo:
If you specify a configuration file on the command line, the registry won’t be used to store the program's settings:
> > ftpserver ./yoursettings.ini (settings will be store in the current folder)
or
> > ftpserver ftpserver.cfg (settings will be store in the windows folder)

Note that the homepage for TreeComp 3.x states that it creates the registry key
[i]HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Quirt\TreeComp\WindowPos[/i]
