Can't find anyway to download the file. All I see are ways to generate the HTML code for sharing the file. Any pointers?

But alas, the Pocket version won't run - at least off of my stick. The one who made the Pocket-version has realized some probs too (have a look into the K-Meleon forum here):

http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net/forum/re ... 875,page=2

[Edit: The link does not seem to work - look under General-Is there a 1.1 portable version-page2 (near the end)]

The good news: The 'normal' version of K-Meleon does run off of my stick without probs. With a bit of tweaking it can be made quite portable...

DLLs maybe the problem?

zikarus,

Sorry about the nuisance with Pocket K-Meleon 1.1 not running occasionally on some systems. However, try copying MSVCP71.DLL and MSVCR71.DLL into the K-Meleon program folder (or newer versions of them) and see if it works. That solved the problems which I had on some Win XP+SP2 machines.

Alain Aupeix has kindly produced Pocket K-Meleon 1.1 in various languages, as I am spending most of my time now working on Linux systems. (I'm afraid Vista just doesn't seem worth the hassle!)

Yes I have tried the .dll trick - but without success in my case...
But don't worry - it works pretty well with the normal version :D

Though I understand your pov concerning Vista I hope you will not get stuck into Linux only - XP is still quite alive too 8)

EDIT Btw just stumbled across the numbers of the .dll you named! Might try it once more since I tried the 70s (not the 71s) if I remember right. Maybe that is the clue....

Magic! On one PC (though not the one it failed on this morning) it does work now with the 71.dll's included. Thank you Douglas!

Rant of a minimalist (rather OT)

Ahem, confession time for a minimalist: I was really a Win 2000 man, and only have to use Win XP at work under duress! The extra bloat of XP for a tiny amount of dubiously improved function over 2000 never convinced me, but 2000 did seem worth the leap from Win 98.

The crazy thing is, I can experiment with the Beryl 3-D desktop under MEPIS Linux running on my several years old gear, whereas Vista would not even sniff at installing Aero on such old hardware.

Anyway, glad that changing the DLLs helped you somewhat with K-M!
