Last freeware version: Portable WackGet V1.2.2

#1 Post by AlephX »

It seems that this freeware release will be tha last one, because http://www.millweed.com/ seems to be closed. I can´t determine what happened... :(

Anyway the portable release is still at http://www.robloach.net/projects/portableapplications

Portable WackGet does not remember my settings after I exit and run it again. Can anyone help me figure this out? I am running Windows XP SP1.

Thanks in advance. :)

Millweed.com has apparently been grabbed by a domain troll.

Apparently AusGamers carried Wackget on to Version 1.2.3.
See this page for links to a self-installing Windows EXE file (link near end of post) and for the source code:

See this page for a PortableApps prerelease of Wackget 1.2.3:

*BUMP
It would be nice if this also gets updated in the database, as the current links are dead.
btw, I got the download from ausgamers, simply extract with universal extractor and copy files to wherever on your portable drive. Works for me.

Anyone out there figured out how to get this to work with Vista yet? Loved the program, just doesn't work with my new laptop, which is a major bummer.

(?You did already try setting it to run in compatibility mode with XPsp2 I am sure?)

Per. Mr. Haller
It works on Windows 95 through Vista.
Find this quote and the PortableApps.com release at the same address as posted (by someone else) before but here it is again.

Based on Midas' suggestion, I have moved the old version over to PA's version.

Here's the old links for reference:
