Unattended (Windows deployment system)

#1 Post by Midas »

Unattended might (or not) be in some way related to a previous post regarding Windows Application Installers (see http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... hp?t=20330); it looks rather technical, and I'm also uncertain about its software offering, but here's the relevant info, anyway:
 • http://unattended.sourceforge.net/ author wrote:This is a system for fully automating the installation of Windows 2000 Professional and Server, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003. [...] When you are finished setting up Unattended, you will be able to boot any PC from a floppy, from a CD-ROM, or directly from the network, answer a few questions, and come back an hour or two later to a fully-installed Windows workstation.
The current Unattended version (v4.9) can be downloaded from http://sourceforge.net/projects/unatten ... t/download.

[Unattended changelog is at http://unattended.svn.sourceforge.net/v ... k/NEWS.txt]

For a related portable utility, check out TGUP (The Great Unattended Project) at http://tgup.net/.
 • http://tgup.net/about/readme author wrote:TGUP is an executable Package that downloads and installs commonly-used freeware silently in sequence and sorts them into the startmenu (without user interaction). A manual selection of Applications is also possible.
[TGUP was previously mentioned by user m^(2): http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... 876#p14876.]
